Weak Hero Class 2 (2025) - Series Review "My heart still belongs here"

It’s been a while since I last wrote a drama review, but today I just have to share my thoughts on Weak Hero Class 2. The second season took quite a while to arrive, but thanks to Netflix, it finally happened! I actually started watching it the same week it was released. However, after Episode 1, I paused because I was scared that the hype and excitement I felt for Class 1 wouldn’t be matched by Class 2. I didn’t want to be disappointed. But months later, I decided to continue, and thankfully… it did not disappoint me at all!

On MyDramaList, it still deserves a solid 10 out of 10 stars from me. That said, if I were to compare it to Class 1, the first season is still my favorite. Class 1 was just on another level for me, but Class 2 definitely follows right after on my list of best K-dramas of all time.

I absolutely love how Si-eun (Park Ji-hoon) continues to embody his character. He’s still the same Si-eun I admired in Class 1—brave, smart, and full of heart. However, I have to admit that the fighting scenes and intense battles in Class 2 didn’t feel quite as jaw-dropping as the first season’s. Maybe it’s because I was already used to seeing Si-eun in action during Class 1, so the shock factor wasn’t the same. Still, it was thrilling to watch!

The new cast members were a pleasant surprise. They’re all adorable and their characters really complement Si-eun’s personality. Because of what happened in Class 1, it took a while for him to open up and truly connect with others again, but his pure heart still led him to do the things he doesn’t like doing—fighting when necessary.

And I have to say this again: Park Ji-hoon nailed it. This role fits him so perfectly, and I think this series truly brought out the best in him as an actor. Sometimes you just need the right project to shine, and Weak Hero is that project for Park Ji-hoon.

I’m not sure yet if there will be a Season 3, but I truly believe it deserves one. There’s still so much story left to tell, and I hope Netflix will make it happen. Fingers crossed!
